A POPULAR themed market will return for its 14th year this weekend.

The annual Clayton Dickensian Market takes place this Saturday and the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Zafar Ali will be there to open it.

Bradfordians have turned up in their thousands in the past and this year visitors will have their pick of over 85 stalls.

Many stallholders will be clad in Dickensian clothing, with examples of period dress on show on stage as well.

Food, local crafts and tombolas are just some of the varied examples of stalls on offer this Saturday.

Festivity is also on the menu at the market with Christmas gifts available to buy.

Entertainment comes in a variety of forms, from a funfair and birds of prey, to the showcase of some historic Jowett cars near Clayton library.

Bands, solo singers and choirs will take to the stage during the event as well.

A grand raffle will be drawn in the evening at Clayton Conservative Club, where there will also be an auction of some special items and a performance from band, "Dual Impact".

The raffle prize is a two night hotel stay, with £100 spending money on top.

Clayton Dickensian Market is non-profit and this year will raise funds for four charities and community groups.

This includes: Mind in Bradford, PHAB, "Forget Me Not" children's hospice and Friends Together.

The market takes place from 11:00am-4:00pm on December 1.

Entrance is free, but souvenir programmes are on sale for a £1 with the chance to win a £50 voucher.
