EFFORTS to list a village hall as an “asset of community value” will be discussed by Councillors tonight.
Harden Parish Council have made the request, which would help safeguard the future of Harden Memorial Hall.
The hall (pictured) is where the Parish Council regularly meets, and if it is listed as a protected asset it means the parish council and other community groups could have a say if the building were ever to be sold.
If the owner does decide to sell the building, it would trigger a six week moratorium when councils and community groups could bid to purchase the property.
It is currently owned by Bradford Council, and is also used for after school events and a hub for the Harden Gala committee.
The request will be discussed by members of the Council’s Shipley Area Committee, meeting in Denholme Mechanics Institute at 6pm.
