THREE computing students from University Centre Bradford College have been successful in a national skills contest.

Iulian Tudorie took first place, Eduard Adam came second and Jamal Anjum placed sixth in the Cloud Computing competition at WorldSkills UK Live, held at the NEC in Birmingham.

The trio are all studying for a bachelor’s degree in Computer Networks and Systems Support at University Centre Bradford College’s School of Computing.

Winner Mr Tudorie said: “I went there expecting the hardest test, but it was a typical hard working day.”

Eduard Adam said it was an “exciting experience”.

He said: “We were tested in a real-world scenario.

“There were multiple opportunities for other students from other courses to participate in competitions as well.

“I think it would definitely benefit anyone who participates, as you will be in contact with experts in that industry while competing against like-minded people.”

Mr Anjum added: “It was challenging, driven and very inspirational if you look from the learning perspective.

“I would say the best place to test yourself is definitely WorldSkills UK competition.”

WorldSkills UK is the largest skills event held in the UK, and took place over three days earlier this month.
