THE sixth-form at the school of murdered MP Jo Cox will be renamed in her honour.
Heckmondwike Grammar’s new sixth form will be named the Jo Cox Centre in memory of Mrs Cox, pictured, a former head girl at the school.
The Batley & Spen MP was murdered in Birstall in 2016.
The new centre for A-Level students will give students a choice of learning environments and is equipped with charging points and wifi.
Ross Oxby, head of sixth form, said: “We are very proud of this addition to our sixth form provision.
“It gives students the independence and freedom to develop socially and academically in a bespoke post-16 environment, while retaining all the advantages of our teaching and facilities in the main school. The students clearly love it and are already making full use of the brand-new facilities and environment.”
