A MAN who witnessed an accident outside his house has been left frustrated by delays in returning his CCTV equipment which recorded the incident.
Derek Swales was first on the scene of the collision in Broadstone Way, Holme Wood, between a motorcycle and a car and helped revive the biker but the man died later in hospital.
Mr Swales was able to give police footage of the crash on April 7 this year but more than seven months later he still has not had his kit back leaving him feeling vulnerable.
Now he is alerting people to make sure that they only give up a copy of their CCTV film.
He said: "I'm warning people to make sure they only give police a copy of their hard drive."
He felt he had been passed from pillar to post over retrieving his equipment.
"You do you duty but then are treated like a fool."
A police spokesperson said that in some cases officers may need to keep CCTV images for a long time while inquiries are continuing.
