POLICE investigating two reports of disorder in the Daisy Hill area of Bradford have released nine men on bail pending further enquiries.

Both incidents happened on Hazelhurst Brow and are believed to have been sparked by two vehicles being burnt out on Friday morning.

Officers were first called at around 12.15pm and arrested five men following reports of two groups of males fighting.

A police spokesperson said: "At 6.25pm, police received a further report of a disorder at the same location.

"Officers attended and a further three men have been arrested in connection with the incident."

One further arrest was made on Saturday. All nine men were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

There were no reports of any serious injuries.

In an appeal to the public Detective Inspector Ian Cottrell, of Bradford CID, said: “I would appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information on either of the incidents yesterday to get in contact with police.

“We have arrested nine people in connection with the investigation and we are carrying out extensive enquiries into the circumstances.

“We believe the incidents were sparked by two vehicles being burnt out yesterday morning in the same area and they have involved individuals who are known to each other.

“There will be increased patrols in the area today to offer reassurance to the community.”
