A CHARITY has thanked the fire service for its "amazing service" after a blaze broke out in its building yesterday.

Firefighters from Shipley, Bingley and Fairweather Green were called to The Cellar Trust's premises on Farfield Road, Shipley, yesterday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire, in a void above the ceiling on the ground floor, was caused by an electrical fault.

Some damage was caused to the area above. Hose reels were used to put the fire out and crews stayed at the scene for around an hour. The building was evacuated.

The Cellar Trust, a charity which provides mental health support to adults, posted on Facebook to say everyone was "safe and well".

In the update they said: "Thank you to West Yorkshire Fire Service for your amazing service."

In another post, the charity said its cafe would be closed on Monday due to the fire.
