PLANS for student accommodation, a wedding gift shop and a grill restaurant in a Grade-II listed former mill have been refused.
The proposals, for the Legrams Mill complex in Legrams Lane, were lodged with Bradford Council for consideration. The application said that finding a “viable economic use” for mill is “critical” to the success of its regeneration.
In refusing the application, planning officer Matthew Aveyard said: "The size of the proposed residential units are insufficient to provide a quality of accommodation that is expected by modern standards and no justification has been provided for this.
"The proposed development fails to provide adequate parking for the existing and proposed uses within the site, likely to result in an increase in on-street parking affecting the safe and free flow of traffic on a busy road."
