A “COMMUNITY conversation” on the future of a prominent Shipley site will be held tomorrow.
Councillor Vick Jenkins (Lab, Shipley) organised the event to gather public opinion on what they would like to see at the site of the former Branch Pub.
The building was demolished earlier this summer as part of a multi million pound scheme to improve traffic between Shipley and Bradford, which will take place over the next few years.
Bradford Council is planning to start consultations on the work in the coming months, but is planning on landscaping the site to make a temporary green space before work starts.
Cllr Jenkins says the event will allow people to discuss what they want in the final scheme, such as what they want to see included for pedestrians, cyclists, greening of the area and neighbouring streets.
Cllr Jenkins said: "I think it is important for local people to be able to get together and share their ideas and to be able to gain a wider picture from different interest groups in our community.
"I am really looking forward to hearing more ideas on Saturday which will help me also to shape my thoughts in going forward."
The event will be held at Northcliffe Church Hall between 2pm and 3.30pm.
