A VW Golf stopped in Bradford has been seized by police after the driver was found to have no insurance.
West Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Unit tweeted the picture of the car and appealed to motorists to insure themselves for the car they are driving.
The force are conducting enhanced operations to remove uninsured drivers from our roads as part of Operation Drive Insured.
The Motor Insurers’ Bureau says uninsured drivers are often involved in a wide range of criminal activities.
Uninsured drivers are more dangerous than insured drivers and cause a high number of accidents. One contributing factor, it says, is because those driving with insurance are encouraged to display safer behaviour and meet road legal requirements to help keep policy costs down.
In 2017 MIB received 11,000 claims from victims of uninsured drivers, with hundreds of people who had suffered catastrophic, life changing injuries.
Police officers also stopped a vehicle in Bradford after spotting its front offside tyre had several issues - no tread, no air and the cord exposed being three.
The driver was reported.
