MURDER victim Owen Hassan stumbled into his mum's pub for help after two men attacked him in the street, it has been revealed.

Detectives hunting for two killers say the 30-year-old was attacked minutes after he left the Old Stag Inn which is owned by his mother.

It comes after we revealed that a murder investigation was launched when Owen was found with serious injuries on Greenview Street in Pollokshaws last Wednesday at around 10.25pm.

Murder cops say he arrived at the Old Stag Inn on Greenview Street at around 10.20pm. He left a short time later and was approached by two men. He ran off, and was chased and attacked by the two men in Greenview Street.

Injured Owen then managed to make his way back to the pub where his mum and other patrons tried to help him, and emergency services were called.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died a short time later.

Police Scotland's Major Investigation Teams, who are leading the enquiry, however admit that although Shawlands man Owen was the intended target, they have not established a motive for the murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Fergus, above, of the Major Investigation Team, said: "Owen had dinner with a friend at Oro restaurant in Kilmarnock Road, Shawlands and left at 5.30pm on Wednesday, November 7. I am keen to hear from people who were in this restaurant on the afternoon in question, or who may have seen Owen in the Kilmarnock Road area."

He added: "We need to trace the two men who are responsible for the sustained and vicious attack on Owen as a matter of urgency. It is vital that they are held to account for their actions. Owen’s family and friends have been left devastated by this terrible crime.

"We need to establish where Owen went after 5.30pm and who he was with. If you have any information on this please come forward.

“We were contacted on Wednesday afternoon by someone who had passed on information anonymously. I would urge that person to re-contact us as they may have further detail that will help move our investigation forward.

“We will trace whoever is responsible for this murder, but we would appreciate any information that the local community can provide and I would urge anyone who saw Owen, or who was in the area of Greenview Street on Wednesday evening to contact us. Did you see the two men responsible in the area before or after Owen was attacked? You may think your information is irrelevant, but please let us be the judge of that, as the piece of information that you hold could prove vital to this investigation.”
