BRADFORD City are currently enduring a sticky patch, with today's home loss to Portsmouth making it a winless run of seven.

Much of fans' anger has been directed to club owners, Stefan Rupp and Edin Rahic, with many blaming them for the current turmoil.

A poll ran by the Telegraph and Argus in the week showed 77 per cent of the 3,215 votes cast blamed the two Germans for the situation.

Only 18 per cent blamed the players, with 3 per cent blaming manager David Hopkin.

We walked alongside Bantam's fans on their way to today's game and grabbed a few outside Valley Parade to get their reaction to their club's plight this season.

Sue Riding, of Bingley, said: "It's worrying really. I just think they (the owners) should come out and apologise properly.

"Say, we're sorry we got it wrong, we'll put some money in and stop this silly system - it doesn't work at our level."

She added: "If they apologised properly, we could all just move on."

Chris Roundell, of Rawdon, and Steve Horne, of Apperley Bridge, have been going to watch their beloved City for "donkey's years."

Mr Horne said he'd been coming since he was a little boy when his grandad used to drive the tram to Valley Parade from Baildon and back.

He said: "He always used to miss the last 10 minutes because he had to drive the tram back to Baildon."

Mr Roundell said: "I've got no views on him (Rahic). I don't like the idea of what's going on, but who's got ten million to part with."

On the player front, Mr Roundell can't understand what's going on.

He said: "They seem to play as if they don't know each other. They're like eleven misfits."

Mr Horne added: "They're tactically naive - there's always a big gap in midfield."

Steve Coulter, of Oakenshaw, and his son Owen both feel dissapointed with the current state of affairs and were reflective on City's success in the not too distant past.

Son, Owen, said: "They're destroying all the hard work that was done before by other chairmen."

Mr Coulter said: "They (the owners) need to put out a statement if they're here or not. We're in the dark and people speculate on social media and it just winds people up even more."

He added that this was the most spineless City team he'd seen in his 25 years of supporting them.

But, Mr Coulter believes the blame for that also lays at the door of the owners.

He said: "They're (players) paid to do a job, but they're not up to scratch.

"They've replaced a winning team with players that aren't up to scratch and they didn't take the advice.

"We've had two administrations in the past and I'm very dissapointed people aren't more vocal - people have such short memories.

Mr Coulter has noticed a switch over the past six months in how many people are backing the owners.

He said: "I can count on one hand, on social media, who backs up the chairman - you can see through them."

Today's 1-0 loss to top of the table Portsmouth won't have made matters any better.

But, Bantams fans will hope that a change in scenery next weekend - an away fixture at Aldershot in the FA Cup - could end this torrid spell.
