BRADFORD SOUTH MP Judith Cummins and Bradford East MP Imran Hussain have been showing their support for striking staff on the picket line outside the University of Bradford.
Friday was the last day of a three-day strike by administrative, professional and support staff in dispute over restructuring.
Speaking on behalf of herself and Mr Hissaun, Ms Cummins said: “Today we spoke to university workers outside the University of Bradford. It is clear to us that they want to get back to work as soon as possible, but they also want reassurance that their jobs will not be lost.
“We want to see a speedy end to this dispute over the university’s restructure which is proposing to make up to 250 staff redundant.
“Today we are sending a joint letter to the University and Unison urging them to meet to discuss a strategy to end the current protest action.”
