Two vans parked around 40 feet apart from each other were torched within four hours of each other last night.

The two flatbed Ford Transit vans were set on fire, the first in Wheat Street, Ingrow, and the second just around the corner in Stanley Road.

Firefighters from Keighley were called to both blazes, which were both thought to have been started deliberately.

A spokesperson for Keighley fire station said: "We were called at about 7.25pm to Wheat Street, where we found the engine compartment and cab of a Ford Transit flatbed van fully alight.

"We were called again at 11.30pm to Stanley Road to a second van on fire, the same make and model, which was again fully alight on arrival.

"The vans were no more than 40 feet apart, they were parked on each side of the road.

"We used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to put out both fires, and both were suspected to be deliberate, so the police were called."
