A PUB in the district is set to re-open next week after a £150,000 renovation.

The Duke of York, in West Street, Shelf, will re-open on Thursday, November 8.

It has been taken over by Yorkshire publican Craig Isaacs and pub company Ei Group plc.

The pub has been transformed inside and out, and Mr Isaacs is aiming to make the pub a hub in the local community.

It will offer a range of cask and craft ales, a range of wines and gins, and will also be introducing a refreshed food menu, which will all be homemade and change in line with the seasons.

Mr Isaacs has worked closely with pub managers Libby Carl and Nick Lees in reinvigoration the pub, and Mr Lees is now head chef at the pub.

The pub will be holding an official launch night on November 8 from 7pm, where samples of the menu will be on offer, along with a complimentary glass of Prosecco, with live acoustic entertainment from musician Nathaniel Lodge.
