A SALES executive from a housebuilding in Apperley Bridge has been part of a 40 strong team who completed the Housebuilders' Mountain Marathon Challenge in Wales.

The team from Linden Homes and Galliford Try Partnerships trekked the gruelling, 26-mile rugged terrain of Snowdonia raising more than £30,000.

The money will go to the Youth Adventure Trust.

The Trust helps vulnerable children, aged 11 to 14 years old whilst giving them the chance to take part in a number of residential adventure camps. The programme enables the participants to experience success and learn to go beyond their own expectations whilst growing in confidence.

Mr Hughes from Linden Homes West Yorkshire’s Brompton Fold development at Apperley Bridge is no stranger to fundraising having taken part in two skydives for charity.

He said: "Raising such a large amount of money for such a worthwhile cause has really made two days' trekking across Snowdonia in the blustering wind and rain worth it. The challenge was no mean feat so reaching the top was a great feeling of achievement.”
