BRADFORD has been named the fourth worst district for being voucher savvy when it comes to taking advantage of money saving coupons when shopping online.

Research carried out by MyVoucherCodes found while the north of the country came top in searching for deals, some cities were dragging their heels.

The survey, data details here, looked at the 63 largest towns and cities in the country and found Bradford ranked in 60th place with an average of 998 searches per month per 100,000 population.

Top ranked Birkenhead had 4,346 searches per 100,000 population while Swansea had the least with just 371 searches.

The average for the country was 2,167 searches.

The data was collected after MyVoucherCodes conducted a study into where the UK's most discount-conscious consumers live and, in order to do so, researched how the number of monthly searches on Google for 25 discount code and voucher related terms compare across the country.

Anders Nilsson, spokesperson for MyVoucherCodes said about the research: “In recent years, there has been a significant increase in people using online voucher codes so it’s interesting to see which UK cities are on the lookout for the biggest savings. It appears that northerners are the most likely to look after those all-important pennies, while those living in the Midlands could benefit from searching for discount deals more regularly.”
