ONE beggar has been arrested and another ordered to attend court after being caught by police today.

The two men were begging with signs in the BD4 area, and were spotted by officers earlier this afternoon.

West Yorkshire Police's Bradford East Neighbourhood Policing Team said one of the men was wanted for breaching court bail, so was arrested, and the other man was reported for summons to court for begging.

The two men were carrying signs, which were seized by officers.

One read: "Hi, I'm homeless, could anyone help with donations of food, cigs, or money please? Thank you!!"

The other read: "Homeless, can u help with anything today will do, even a wave or a smile will do, God bless to you all."

Begging is a criminal offence.
