INTERNATIONAL chemicals manufacturer Christeyns, whose UK headquarters are in Bradford, has acquired Clover Chemicals, strengthening its position in the professional cleaning and hygiene sector.

Clover Chemicals manufactures a wide range of more than 200 cleaning products and is based in the High Peak area of Derbyshire.

The firm has a strong focus on research and development and its range provides consistent and high-quality cleaning results whilst maintaining consideration for the environment.

Best known for its laundry and food & beverage divisions that manufacture detergents, disinfectants and equipment, the purchase of Clover takes the Christeyns professional hygiene division to the next level.

Clover’s product range which includes floorcare, washroom and skincare products will complement Christeyns existing offering.

housekeeping, hard surface and dishwashing products along with a range of dosing equipment options will also enhance the product portfolio.

Clover will continue to run its current business activities at its High Peak site, with the existing team working closely with new colleagues at Christeyns in order to further strengthen and grow the Clover business.

Founded 70 years ago in 1946, Christeyns developed into an international detergents and chemicals group. It is still a 100 per cent privately owned family business, with head quarters in Belgium and 16 factories worldwide, producing specialist chemicals for several industry sectors.

Christeyns’ UK operation dates from 1998 when it bought the Oils & Soaps company, which was founded in Bradford in 1848. With its headquarters still at Rutland Street in Bradford, Christeyns UK now includes cleaning chemicals specialists Cole & Wilson, Oscrete construction products and Warrington-based Christeyns Food Hygiene.
