MUMS with young children are being encouraged to make sure their little ones get the flu vaccination as winter draws closer.
Nurses from the Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust (BDCT) will be visiting primary schools and running community-based clinics to offer the nasal flu vaccine - a simple spray for children aged four to nine.
Saiqa Kauser (pictured) who heads up the immunisation team at BDCT, said: “Flu can be horrible for little children and if they get it, it can spread around the whole family. For children with long term conditions like diabetes or asthma, flu can potentially cause serious complications such as bronchitis and pneumonia, so it’s really important that they look after themselves.”
