HALF-term activities started with a bang this weekend as the Dengineers took over the National Science and Media Museum.

Fans of the hit CBBC show, where lucky children get the den of their dreams built for them, flocked to the museum to take part in a wide range of den and STEM-themed activities.

In the museum, children could discover all the different materials used in building a a den and their different uses, design the den of the dreams, and make a 3D model of their dream den, upcycling a range of materials into decorations for their designs.

Different themes for den designing are featured everyday starting from Monday, ranging from nature dens to disco dens, magic dens, book dens, ocean dens and even Halloween dens.

Children could also get hands on with their parents in the Dengineering Challenge, building the tallest, strongest and most stable structure they could, putting their building skills to the test.

Starting from Monday, children will also get the chance to meet the Dengineers and ask questions and hear behind the scenes stories all about the hit show. This will run until October 30.

The Big Idea Family Show is also running over the next two weeks in the Wonderlab, where families can learn all about various ingenious objects from the engineering world, and how engineering, maths and science solve problems every day.

The Dengineers takeover runs everyday until Sunday, November 4, at the museum, and entry to all activities and shows is free.

The Dengineers has been organised as part of the Bradford Family Learning Festival, which is also running over half-term.
