SHIPLEY residents and commuters will be consulted on plans to improve a road junction “in the next couple of months.”

The Branch pub on Bradford Road was demolished to make way for major junction improvement works, part of an overall £42 million road scheme to improve traffic between Shipley and Bradford.

The Council has previously said the works may take a number of years, and the site is soon to be landscaped as a temporary measure until the work happens.

At a Council meeting this week Councillor Kevin Warnes (Green, Shipley) asked what the Council had done to involve locals and groups to "explore the full range of possible design options to boost travel cycling and walking networks.

In response he was told a presentation would be held soon to engage the public on the plans. The response continued: "The consultation with the local residents and members of the travelling public will follow over the next couple of months to ensure that as far as possible the aspirations of the community are incorporated within the proposals which are developed for improvements along this strategic corridor."
