BULLS have paid tribute to longstanding supporter and volunteer John Sowden, who died last Sunday at Huddersfield-based Kirkwood Hospice.

A statement on their website read: "John, who has carried out many years of voluntary work for the club, will be sadly missed by us all at the Bradford Bulls. Our thoughts and sympathies go to the family at this deeply distressing time.

"John was a fantastic volunteer who played an essential role in the club’s production, especially on game-days.

"Distributing programmes across the ground, issuing stadium passes, supplying water for the first team, RFL officials and ball boys, as well as staying after the full-time whistle to help clean the ground, John played a significant role at the Bulls.

"All work that John took out around the ground was for the love of his club at no expense. Everyone is deeply saddened by his loss and he will be sorely missed."
