A HIGH achiever from Bradford has scooped a Royal award.
Shannon Griffiths, 21, from Bradford, won the Homesense Young Achiever award at the Yorkshire and the Humber Prince’s Trust Awards.
The gongs recognise the achievements of young people who have succeeded against the odds, improved their chances in life, and had a positive impact on their community.
Shannon, who has Alopecia and is a carer for her dad, took part in the Make Your Mark project, which gives unemployed young people the experience to find work in retail.
She gained experience in Marks & Spencer café in Bradford and was eventually offered a job.
She said: “Winning this award proves how far I’ve come and The Prince’s Trust has kept supporting me along the way. I now can’t wait to see what lies ahead.”
