AN appeal has been lodged against the decision to block the opening of a micropub in a convenience store.
Earlier this year Bradford Council refused a planning application to turn part of the Saltaire Local store, on Saltaire Road, into a 28 square metre pub.
Planning officers said the pub, near The Salt Cellar and Fanny’s Ale House, would be an “over-intensification in the use of the site”, and create extra noise and disturbance.
There had been a mixed response from neighbours, with some saying the pub would be a community asset, but others complaining another pub in that area would lead to more noise.
An appeal against this decision, submitted by Garry Holmes, has now been submitted, and says work to create the separate unit has already been completed.
A final decision will now be made by a government planning inspector.
