British Transport Police (BTP) revealed a bright pink suitcase was taken from a Northern Rail train at Shipley, in September.
BTP would now like to get in touch with the pictured man as it believes he may have some useful information.
A tweet from BTP said: "We think this guy might have information. Know who he is? Let us know."
