A WOMAN in her seventies is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Bradford city centre this morning.
The woman was hit by a red Vauxhall Zafira in New John Street, close to the junction with Providence Street, in the city centre at 10.46am.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said the woman - who was taken to Leeds General Infirmary - is in a "serious but not life-threatening condition".
He added the driver of the Vauxhall stopped at the scene and has been spoken to by police.
A police cordon remained in place until 2.30pm, and enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
