A LISTED former college building in Manningham could be converted into a nursing home if new plans are approved.

Earlier this year Bradford College put its former Bolton Royd College of Further Education on Manningham Lane on the market.

The 3.1 acre site, which includes a Grade II listed building, had an asking price of £1.5 million.

Now the building has been sold, and Jag Tailor has submitted a planning application to Bradford Council to turn part of the building into a 37 bed care home.

The application says the other wing of the building would be used as a residential dwelling.

The college was used by Bradford College for adult and community learning classes, but closed last year as part of the college's efforts to "consolidate its estate."

The courses on offer were moved to other local community centres and college facilities in the city centre.

The College declined to say how much the building sold for.

A decision on the application is expected at the end of the month.
