A MAN who was apparently drunk had to be dealt with by police after being spotted walking along the hard shoulder of the M62 recently.
The man could be seen walking along the edge of the motorway's eastbound carriageway between Junction 26 for Chain Bar and Junction 27 for Gildersome.
The hair-raising footage was captured by police officer Martin Willis, who posts on Twitter under the name Motorway Martin.
He said: "It is not only illegal for pedestrians to venture onto the motorway but also extremely dangerous.
"Especially when you've been on a night out and had a few too many drinks.
"Scary how many people think it's okay to use the hard shoulder as a footpath."

When questioned by some users as to why he was driving in the middle lane of the motorway, PC Willis added: "We sit in the middle of the carriageway with rear reds and blues [lights] on to hold traffic back just in case."
The penalty for being a pedestrian on a motorway is a £50 fine.
