FAMILY homes could be built empty plot of land in Thornbury if new plans are approved.
Incommunities has submitted a planning application to Bradford Council to build eleven three and four bed houses on the site of the former Wainfleet House on Rushton Road.
The prior building was a collection of bedsits for the elderly, and later officers, before it was closed. After numerous complaints the empty building was attracting anti social behaviour in the area, Incommunities demolished it in 2015. Although the site was landscaped, it has since become a hot spot for litter and fly tipping.
The planning application says: "It is intended the new housing will eliminate the complaints associated with the derelict site as well as enhance the locality in terms of looks, and perhaps improve the micro-economy of the area with people from the new scheme shopping and using facilities within the local area."
A decision on the application is expected by the end of the year.
