A UNION has published a biography on a retired Bradford bus driver and the first South Asian President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC).
The book, commissioned by United, about Mohammad Taj's life, will be unveiled at a launch on Thursday in the Council Chamber at City Hall.
His life began in the Kunjar Mal, a small agricultural village in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, before moving to Bradford to work in the textile mills, and later working as a bus driver for 40 years.
During his time with the union, he has exposed exploitation and discrimination, won major advances for equality and justice, and supported workers in struggles everywhere.
Speaking alongside Mr Taj at the launch event will be former Bradford South MP, Gerry Sutcliffe and author Mark Metcalf.
