A RETURNING art fair gave local artists the chance to show their wares on Saturday.

The Bradford Print Fair was an all-day event which hosted around 19 print makers - mainly those from the north - who displayed and sold their works.

Each stall showcased their individual styles and were situated in the newly refurbished co-working studio in the Assembly Bradford building on North Parade.

Nearby cafe, Bread and Roses, also got in on the act by showing films and hosting talks from local creatives throughout the day.

There were several Bradford based artists at the event.

One of them, 25-year-old illustrator Rosie McAndrew, focuses a lot of her prints on women and popular culture.

She had work - titled "The kind of girl I'd like to find in my mirror" - displayed at an exhibition in Thornton earlier this year.

She said: "I've been at all the Bradford fairs - it's nice to have something local."

This was the third Bradford Print Fair, with two taking place last year.

Sven Shaw, from Saltaire, said: "It's nice because a lot of my stuff is related to Bradford - local themes and pictures of Bradford itself."

This includes a rather catching print of what Bradford city centre would look like if it was taken over by the White Walkers from hit HBO show, Game of Thrones.

He added: "It's nice to give back to the city. This space is really good and it's the first time I've seen it. It's nice to see new spaces opening."

Organisers, Anna Parker and Katie Holmes said they will be doing it all again in 2019.
