A LOCAL primary school has issued a warning to parents and pupils after a reported "Stranger Danger" issue.
Headteacher of Hollingwood Primary School, Mr J Duke, sent a letter of warning to parents and guardians after a reported incident involving a pupil and a taxi driver last week.
The letter, seen by the T&A, was titled "Stranger Danger" and was sent out on Monday, October 1.
It said, one of the school's children was approached by a grey taxi after they left for the day, at about 3:15pm on Thursday, September 27.
The taxi driver reportedly asked the child to get into the taxi and said "Your mum is in danger, you have to come with me", according to the letter.
After this the letter said: "The child, very sensibly, refused and immediately told his parents."
The incident has been reported to police.
Mr J Duke says in the letter that it was sent out so parents, guardians, and pupils knew to be extra vigilant.
