A PRIMARY school in Wyke has told that is requires improvement following a recent Ofsted inspection.
Worthinghead Primary School, in Wyke Lane, Wyke, has dropped from a Good rating following the inspection.
In the report, inspectors said: “Outcomes in Key Stage 1 are not good enough.
“Standards by the end of Year 2 are too low and not improving quickly enough.
“Expectations of what pupils show and must achieve are not high enough among some staff.”
It also stated while teaching has improved, it is not consistent enough.
Areas where the school performed well were that headteacher Lillian Sharp “leads with a clear moral purpose” and has created a “skilled” team of staff.
Children do well in Reception, and disadvantaged pupils are “carefully supported” by the school.
Support for children with SEND was also found to be “effective”, and they “achieve well from their starting points”.
