A CHOIR of schoolchildren from Kenya stopped by Bradford College today to perform songs for students and speak to them about their lives.

The Singing Children of Africa stopped by as part of their fundraising Believe Tour 2018. The choir has a long relationship with the college.

It comprises 24 children aged between nine and 14, who attend the Joluarabi School in Kenya, set up by charity Educate the Kids, which helps children with no hope of attending school to get an education.

Bradford College has long supported the charity, and English tutor Esther Wilkey spent a year working at the school and returned at Easter to volunteer there.

On the visit, the children performed a selection of traditional and contemporary African songs and dances to staff at noon, and to the public at 6.30pm, and also spoke about their school and lives growing up in a poor area of Kenya.
