The Propdex.co.uk report says: “The Government report that house prices have risen in the last year by 3% in England and 4.2% in Wales; this will be cold comfort for people in the 515 postcodes where prices are significantly falling.

“Across the land, property prices in the fastest falling postcodes are 35% higher than in the fastest rising. It’s the top end of the market that is suffering as buyers hunt for affordability.

“As ever, property is about location. We hope this report tells that story more clearly.”

The report is based on rigorous analysis of over 890,000 housing transactions using the latest data from HM Land Registry. The report covers home sales in England and Wales up to July 2018.

It is based on the latest data from HM Land Registry’s “Prices Paid” data set.
