A RETREAT centre is holding a series of open events following a year of maintenance work which almost saw the facility close.
Thousands of pounds were needed for repairs at the Norwood Chapel and Retreat Centre, in Otley.
The Wharfedale and Aireborough Circuit rallied round and and as well as boiler repairs, the facility has seen the adjacent cottage refurbished, a kitchen extension in the retreat centre completed, toilet facilities made disabled friendly and pews removed in place of comfortable seating, as well as new carpeting.
The Friends of Norwood Group was launched and they have organised a series of events, the first of which is a Santa@Norwood day on Saturday, December 8, followed by Carols@Norwood on December 15.
Anyone wishing to become a Friend can do so for an annual subscription of £15.
A Friends of Norwood page has also been made on Facebook.
