Police used a stinger device last night (Thursday) to stop a car that failed to pull over for officers.

The Toyota was seen travelling ‘at speed’ in the Nab Wood area of Shipley, but the driver refused to stop for police.

After a pursuit, the vehicle was eventually brought to a halt near Bradford Royal Infirmary.

A foot chase then took place, police have revealed.

A person has been arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified, failing to stop for police and dangerous driving.

Camera crews from Channel 5’s Police Interceptors team were  on hand to capture the drama on camera.

Police officer Sam Johnson tweeted: “Conducting speeding checks on nabwood drive, vehicle sighted at speed, fails to stop and is stung outside the BRI!”

Sgt T Green said: “Concerns from Nabwood residents of speeding, send @WYP_SJ528 to do some tickets, vehicle fails to stop, is pursued, stinger deployed, foot chase driver arrested for disqualified driving, FTS and dangerous driving. @InterceptorsTV in attendance. Watch this space.”
