NEW figures have shown that Bradford as a district has got happier in the past 12 months.

The figures, from the Office of National Statistics’ Personal Wellbeing survey has revealed that the average happiness rating in Bradford is 7.5 out of 10 for the financial year 2017/18, up from 7.3.

People’s anxiety also fell, from a 3.1 out of 10 to 2.8.

However, people’s life satisfaction over that period was shown to have fallen, from 7.6 to 7.5 out of 10, and people in Bradford also said they feel the things done in life are less worthwhile, dropping from 7.9 to 7.8 out of 10.

The national picture is unchanged, with people’s wellbeing staying the same.

Silvia Manclossi, from the ONS, said: “We have identified how factors such as health, and crime levels may affect how people rate their well-being in different parts of the UK.”
