THE second in a series of monthly get-togethers for military veterans will take place in Bradford tomorrow.
The Bradford Veterans Breakfast Club, at Turls Green pub in Centenary Square, is a chance for people who served in the forces to meet up and share memories.
The club is organised by Brian Percival, Age UK Bradford and District’s Veterans and Group Support Officer. The first meeting, last month, was attended by 26 people.
“It was a great success,” said Brian, who meets people who served in the Second World War and other conflicts, as well as National Service. “For many veterans, their years in service are very important to them but they don’t get the opportunity to speak to people with similar experiences.
“This is a social event, held on the last Thursday of each month, for people with a common interest of having served in the military.
“It’s a chance to meet up, in a friendly, informal atmosphere and talk about their memories. ”
