CREWS from Shipley and Bingley were called to the old reservoir in Baildon this morning after a pile of rubber matting was set alight.
The firefighters were called to the blaze in Bingley Road at 3am, where a large pile of rubber matting, similar to the matting found in children's playgrounds, was on fire.
A spokesperson from Shipley fire station said the pile of matting on fire measured two metres high, ten metres long and five metres wide, and it took crews about three hours to make the area safe.
He said: "It looked possibly like it had been fly tipped.
"We needed two pumps from Shipley and Bingley, and we had to pump water up from Baildon as there is none up there to put it out."
