FIRE crews spent almost four hours at a carpet and textiles company last night tackling a large fire outside the premises.
Crews from Cleckheaton and Dewsbury were called to National Floorcoverings in Huddersfield Road, Liversedge, at 6.20pm to reports of a fire at the business.
Firefighters found a roll of carpet and textiles outside the premises on fire.
A spokesperson from Cleckheaton fire station said: "They make carpets, artificial grass and other textiles, and there was a large quantity outside.
"It was fully involved in the fire, and it measured around 20 metres by 20 metres, and the smoke plume could probably be seen for a couple of miles.
"We were there until about 10pm, and we do not know the cause of the fire."
