A NURSERY has seen its Ofsted rating drop from Good to Requires Improvement following a recent inspection.
Fair Play Day Nursery, in Fair Road, Wibsey, was told it needs to ensure areas and resources used by children comply with health and safety law, including hygiene standards.
Inspectors also noted children did not have an adequate supply of bed linen at rest times.
They also said staff do not get enough in-depth information from parents about their children’s prior learning when they first come to the nursery.
The report did note strengths in partnerships with other childcare agencies, and “robust recruitment and vetting procedures” for staff.
Children were also found to have good communication skills, are well behaved, and staff keep a good record of children’s learning and provide “consistent guidance and praise”.
The nursery, founded in 2012, provides care for 100 children aged zero to ten-years-old. It has 16 members of staff, 14 of whom hold early years qualifications at Level 2 or higher, with two other staff members holding degrees in early years.
It provides early education for two to four-year-olds, and also provides wrap around care for school children and runs a holiday club.
