BRADFORD actor Enzo Cilenti has completed a 980-mile cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats in support of charity Parkinson’s UK with his dad

Hollywood star Enzo, 44, took on the epic challenge on a tandem bike with his dad Pietro, 66, who has the progressive brain condition Parkinson’s.

The duo cycled more than 100 miles a day and raised over £25,000 for Parkinson’s UK’s pioneering research to find a cure and better treatments for the condition as part of the Deloitte Ride Across Britain Challenge.

Enzo, who grew up in Bradford and stars in Game of Thrones, said: “The cycle was astonishingly hard. By the end our bodies were exhausted and depleted, but we were still very, very happy! We couldn’t have done it without the support of our friends, family, Parkinson’s UK and the public. I’m very proud of dad, he was amazing!

“Exercise is really important for people with Parkinson’s like my dad. Physical activity is a vital component to maintaining balance and mobility, as well as helping with many other symptoms."

"The money we’ve raised through our cycle will go towards improving the lives of everyone affected by Parkinson’s.”

Parkinson’s UK is the leading charity driving better care, treatments and quality of life for those with the condition. Its mission is to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's through cutting edge research, information, support and campaigning.

Bradford resident Pietro was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2012 and in 2015 he and Enzo took on the legendary Mont Ventoux challenge on a tandem. The Ride Across Britain event has been the last challenge they’ll do together as sadly Pietro’s condition has progressed.
