POLICE have issued a warning to people - especially late night revellers - to ensure they are using licensed taxis and private hire cars.
The warning comes after road traffic officers stopped a silver Mercedes-Benz Vito people carrier in Otley Road, Baildon, at around 11.50pm yesterday.
A tweet from police said the van was stopped by officers with five paying passengers in the car, who believed they were in a taxi.
However, the car was not a licensed taxi or private hire car, and also was not insured.
The tweet read: "Vehicle stopped Otley Road Baildon with 5 paying occupants, they believed they were in a taxi... but it wasn’t.
"It wasn’t even insured! Please make sure they are official taxis when booking."
