A MAN was attacked with what is thought to have been a tyre brace in an attempted carjacking in West Bowling.

Police are appealing for information over the failed robbery, which happened in Woodroyd Road, West Bowling, at around 12.25pm on Saturday, September 15.

A 39-year-old man was sat in his grey Range Rover when at least two men approached the car and opened the driver's door.

They demanded he hand over the keys, and when he refused they hit him over the head with what is thought to have been a tyre brace.

The suspects were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered, but are believed to have been in their mid-teens to early twenties.

They are believed to have ran off towards Parkside Road when their attempted carjacking failed.

The victim was taken to hospital where he receiving treatment for a cut to his head.
