PATIENTS are being invited to join in a Bradford parkrun tomorrow to improve their fitness and mental health.

Horton Park Medical Practice has signed up to a national initiative by the Royal College of GPs and the parkrun organisation to prescribe active lifestyles to patients and practice staff.

Dr Alun Griffiths, who is also one of the Horton Park parkrun directors, said: "Anyone can come along to join in.

"Practice staff are taking on the volunteer roles and we hope to get some patients taking part."

He himself is regular parkrun runner, having completed nearly 200 of them since taking up running five years ago, and encouraged any patients to go along.

Tomorrow's run is at 9-10am. People can do a 5km run, walk or jog or just go along to support.

Anyone wanting to take part should go along to the Horton Park Avenue entrance.

People do not need to register in advance unless they want to register their time.
