STRIKES: Thee more strikes will go ahead in October after talks collapsed
A RAILWAYS union has called for three more strikes.
The RMT union has announced it wants strikes on Arriva Rail North (Northern Rail) on October 6, 13, and 20 in the bitter dispute over the role of guards on trains.
The strikes will all take place on a Saturday.
The action has been announced after talks between Arriva Rail North and Acas - aimed at finding amicable resolution - broke down on Wednesday.
An Acas spokesperson said Arriva Northern Rail and RMT were unable to make any progress in resolving their dispute.
