A CHOIR made up of schoolchildren from Kenya will perform at Bradford College next month.

The Singing Children of Africa is to perform on October 2 as part of their fundraising Believe Tour 2018.

The choir is made up of 24 pupils aged between nine and 14 who attend the Joluarabi School in the north of Kenya, which was set up by the charity Educate the Kids.

Bradford College are supporters of the charity and their English teacher, Esther Wilkey, spent a year working at the African school and returned to volunteer there in the Easter holidays last year.

The group will perform a range of traditional African and contemporary songs and dances.

As well as singing and dancing, they will also speak about their school and about life growing up in a poor area of Kenya.

There will be a performance to college students at noon, followed by another performance for the public from 6.30pm to 9pm.
