A MAN accused of escaping from prison has been caught and charged by police after a manhunt.
Last month, Thames Valley Police appealed for help after HMP Springhill inmate Martin McDonagh allegedly escaped having last been seen there on August 9.
Answering a query from the Oxford Mail today the force confirmed that officers had since arrested the 43-year old.
He has now been charged with one count of escaping lawful custody and is due to appear at Oxford Crown Court at a later - as yet unconfirmed, date.
Police said in a tweet:
